The Berkeley Kitchen

Mid-century grit meets intentional warmth. Designed for a young family with small children, this kitchen is a response to the friction of daily life—requiring a space that balances durability, function, and calm. It is a study in grounding a contemporary family home through material and light.

The space is anchored by bamboo in our Soil finish—a rich, earthy tone that respects the mid-century character of the residence. We focused on the movement of light, allowing it to move freely across the tactile surfaces to enhance the flow between the kitchen and the living areas.

Handcrafted in our Norwegian workshop and shipped to California. It reflects our core conviction: to respond to the context of the architecture and the people who inhabit it. A space built with care, designed to remain.
